What it is
Phrase Wheel hides a phrase behind blank tiles. On their turn a guest spins the wheel, calls a letter, and wins the wedge's value for every match, then tries to solve the phrase.
Add it to your show
It is one step in your Rundown, like any other game. Add it where you want it to play.
- Open the Rundown tab and press Add.
- Choose Phrase Wheel from the menu. It joins the end of the list and opens on the right.
Set it up
The settings hold your puzzles, one per line: a category, a bar, and the phrase in capital letters.
You can use the standard wheel or type your own wedges, and choose the cost of a vowel, the least a solve is worth, and how long a player has for each move.
The Sounds tab picks the sound effect for each moment of the game.
The puzzle and the wheel
The TV shows the category, the phrase as blank tiles, and the wheel. Guests take turns. The phone of the guest whose turn it is has a button to spin the wheel.
Spin and call a letter
Tap Spin the wheel, and the wheel turns on the TV. Where it lands is the value of each letter. Then call a consonant from the keypad, and every match is revealed in the phrase and pays the wedge value.
Buy a vowel or solve
A right letter keeps the turn. Before the next spin, you can buy a vowel from your round score, or try to solve the phrase by typing it in. A wrong letter, a bankrupt, or a lose turn wedge passes the wheel to the next guest. When a guest solves the phrase, the score from their round is banked to the real scoreboard. Everyone else watches the wheel and the tiles on the TV while they wait.
Your controls on the Live tab
On the Live tab, Next puzzle starts a puzzle, and Spin, Call a letter, Buy a vowel, Solve and Pass the wheel do what the player's phone does. Reveal the phrase shows the answer when nobody banks.
Tip The same keys are on the Host Remote, so you can run Phrase Wheel from a phone or tablet.
How it ends
The TV shows the solved phrase, and the score banked by the player who solved it.
